An excursion to Lake Kaltern is a special treat! It is the largest bathing lake in South Tyrol and one of the warmest in the entire Alpine area. During the summer, the water temperature can rise to 28° Celsius. At the lake, you can hire rowing boats and pedalos, as well as surf boards. The lake is full of fish, even freshwater mussels can be found. These are a great addition to the culinary options around the lake! In 2006, one attraction was added to the list: a modern outdoor swimming pool, which is quite impressive through its unique architecture. It is situated on a sundeck above the lake and offers magnificent panoramic views. The four bathing companies along the lake, ‘Gretl am See’, ‘Seegarten’, ‘Lido am See’ and ‘Klughammer’ are open from mid May to the end of September.
