The famous Evelyn Ortner Women’s Museum, located in the spa town of Merano (Meran), houses a fine collection of women's clothing and everyday objects used by women from the 19th century to the present. The exhibition portrays the image of women in society, as well as their changing roles over the years, and represents a unique collection in the wider European context. The permanent exhibition is constantly developing as specific new topics of study and visiting exhibitions are included. The Women's Museum is particularly committed to raising awareness of women's issues and equal rights.
