The Jewish Museum recounts the origin of the Jewish quarter in the spa town of Merano (Meran). It turns out, for example, that it was predominantly Jewish doctors in the 19th century who first testified that the water in Merano had healing properties. This was at a time when the Jewish quarter was particularly active. The synagogue, where documents and objects of worship are still displayed today, shows just how important the Jewish community was at that time, bequeathing the city with diverse foundations. It also contributed to Merano‘s image as an international spa town. Admission free.
