The globally significant "Peter Mitterhofer" Typewriter Museum is located in the Parcines (Partschins) Church Square. About 1,200 valuable pieces, displayed over four floors, offer an amazing and informative overview on the evolution of the typewriter over 120 years. Also on display are original pieces by its inventor, including a workbench, bellows, hemp kneader and a wheelbarrow with a cage which was used to transport two of the five original typewriter models to Vienna. The museum was opened in 1997 in honour of the inventor, Peter Mitterhofer (1822-1893). It is located in Mitterhofer‘s hometown of Parcines.
