Garden Fauna

The Sissi Road crosses the Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle. This is a European cultural route featuring castles and cities that played an important role at the time of the Empress Elizabeth.

7,000 Year Old Grape Seed from Georgia
Next to the South Tyrolean vineyards in the Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle, a grape seed dating back 2,400 years is on display, as well as a golden replica of a 7,000 year old grape seed from Georgia. The replica was a gift from Georgia, one of the oldest wine producing countries in the world, to South Tyrol, the oldest wine producing area in the German language region.
